Another Cycle
The season is underway! There are so many things to do in the garden it can be pretty overwhelming. I am trying to keep up. Inclimate weather is still a threat.
April 11th
I potted up 8 Jalapenos and Aleppo peppers along with the 2 Eggplant. 3 Parsley also went in.
The crocus are wilted and the tulip and daffodil bulbs are coming up. I weeded the backyard.
April 24th
This morning using the square foot gardening method, I planted 12 Beets, 12 carrots, 12 kohlrabi, 12 Swiss Chard, 6 Leeks and18 onions.
3 weeks from now I plan to plant an additional batch and two additional consecutive sowings after that. I have not been very successful at succession planting and hope to give it a solid effort this year.
Snow and frost continue. No sign of the poor peas.
April 29th
The peas have sprung up, along with the tulips, daffodils and hyacinth in the front yard.
This morning I began the hardening off process for the plants and left them outside for 3.5 hours.
The next two days are expected to be in the 80s and will feel very much like Summer.
