Thriving

Goldfinches, hummingbirds, chickadees, house finches, ring-necked doves, and squirrels have brought a beautiful cacophony to the garden again. We also experienced one of those great Colorado spring snowstorms, which made me hold my breath as I watched the snow gather around the peony buds tucked under frost blankets. Miraculously, everything survived. Gardening is not for the meek here. I did not plant garlic this year but a number of still buried bulbs sent up their shoots this week, and scapes are ready for harvesting.
