Spring

Volunteers and planned plantings have begun to poke their heads above ground. This is the season of dandelions. While vigorously pulling them out of the back garden I noticed two rotund bees feasting on the flower heads, their legs covered in pollen. I stopped, took a deep breath, and decided that this year, above all others, I need to practice the zen of the garden – letting things be and co-exist. I still weed the front, but the back has been a tiny bit rewilded by leaving the previously undesirable plants alone.
