The purple clematis vines (three, I think) unexpectedly came back to life after looking decidedly dead throughout Winter and early Spring 2017. It became a carpet of purple enveloping the white trellis.

The garden roses were beset by an aphid infestation, which we successfully counter-attacked with ladybugs. The roses were tended to by my mother when she visited in late May, early June.
