The Season of Neglect
This month I put the last seeds in the ground for flowers. The peonies are blooming as are the violas. The dahlias are coming in and the wet and warm weather is making the weeds thrive. This month’s guests and travel kept me away from the garden for longer than I wanted to be. I feel as though I missed some critical milestones and lessons – when did the Tasoi and Winter Choy bolt? What keeps eating the bean plants? Why are the peppers and tomatoes stunted in the garden?
