Making Room for New

Once the snowfall from the prior month melted, the labor of cleaning up both from the storm and for the season began. The sunflowers were pulled out and broken down. I started work on a new vegetable patch in the front yard, where the sun shines the longest. I plan on planting tomatoes and peppers there next year. New bulbs were set in the front bed, and old bulbs (hyacinths and daffodils), were divided and distributed more evenly throughout. I placed herbs (lavender, thyme, oregano and some calendula still in bloom in cold frames).
